From an early age, my grandfather, who built the first gasoline engine car in Canada, the Fossmobile, often shared his own interest in cars with me, which may have contributed to my fascination with the automobile. This article will outline the steps I took to locate, restore one the drive on of the best automobiles ever built in the early 1970s.

About five years after restoring and selling a 1972 BMW 2002tii, I got the itch to seek out another vehicle project. Post war Willys Jeeps were always an intriguing vehicle to me, but I never thought I would uncover one with such an interesting history. Boyer Fire Jeeps are rare and low and behold I now had one to restore.
